To prevent attack of worm from CD/Flash drive/Memory it is wise to turn off autoplay feature. On Windows XP follow the steps below:
run gpedit.msc -----> Group Policy Editor opened
open Administrative Templates - System
at right panel locate Turn off autoplay
right click and choose PROPERTIES
set to Enable
click Apply
OK
Notes:
There are two Administrative Templates
- under Computer Configuration and
- under User Configuration
set both to enable
